How to find your Ideal Wedding Venue

What Type Of Venue Are You Looking For?

The first thing we recommend when looking for a venue is for you and your partner to brainstorm the type of wedding you want. Once that is done, try to narrow down the list of places that fit your vision. Places like Hotels and Barns are fairly busy, so keep an open mind with dates because they go fast. Non traditional venues such as art galleries, museums, restaurants and even warehouses can be an option so try not to limit yourselves.

What Are You Looking For From Your Wedding Venue?

When considering your wedding venue there is a list of things  you should consider:

1. The area that it is in.

2. Is it ideal for you and your guests?

3. How many guests can it hold?

4. Will there be on site accommodations for your guests?

5. Research pricing structure that works for you and your partner.

6. Is catering in house?

7. Hows the lighting inside? Is it good for the photographer?

8. Is it easy to find for your guests?

9. What are your bar options?

10. Are there any restrictions that would affect your wedding day.

The Wedding Venue Visit

Once you and your partner have a suitable list of venues, you should visit each of them. When visiting venues paying attention to little details like the size of the dance floor, the bar location, and the hygiene of the washrooms are key to being satisfied with your choice. Ask questions like:

  1.  How many weddings a year does this venue have?,

  2.  Are there a lot of power sockets for the band or the Dj?

  3.  Inquire about how they orchestrate their wedding days and see if they're flexible with timing.

Take Your Time In Committing

Number one rule is to be very selective in choosing the venue you decide to get married at. Check a full price list break down of every cost that is and is not included in the package. Be sure to have a contract stating what happens with your money in case of cancellation. Always review over the venues suppliers and see if they insist on you using theirs because that might be a conflict. If not, check on the fees the venue would charge for selecting that option and compare prices with other venues. Lastly, who you will be in contact with you through out the day, and be sure to meet with that person to ensure that the event will run smoothly as scheduled.
